Planet = Stakeholder: Why We Must Redefine Design Success

This is the central issue driving my work: Human behavior is the main issue, and the planet must be a stakeholder in our processes.
We, as designers and product makers, are creating processes and products that are quietly hurting the environment every single day. And the current system makes it virtually impossible for users to fix it.
Think about it:
-
Can the average person really spend hours researching the true impact of every product they buy to avoid greenwashing?
-
Do expensive price tags and confusing labels make it easy to choose the "better" option?
The responsibility for change has to move from the overwhelmed user to the creators of the system - that's us. We're the ones in charge of shaping the outcomes.
I want to use my expertise in UX Research to actually change the system from within. I'm not perfect, and I won't pretend I've nailed sustainable living, but I am committed to having the awareness and intention to change the path.
The Goal: My vision is to help shift the systems so people and consumers don't even have to worry about the impact—because the people making the products will already have taken care of it. That’s what real, systemic change looks like.
This is the philosophy I bring to every wireframe, research plan, and product strategy. If you are also someone who thinks about systems and wants to change them instead of just following the crowd, let’s connect! 🧚🏼♀️
